850 gets real finnicky when damp or raining
I have (2) non-turbo 850's, '96 manual trans. and '97 auto trans., and both do not like to run in the rain or when heavy dew or misty conditions prevail. Any suggestions?

Just tht oposite for my 96 NA 850. When it is misting rain the denser, cooler air makes the engine run stronger and get better fuel economy.

Do they not run at all or do they just have poor performance when damp?
If the latter try spraying the plug leads and ignition system with Damp Start.
Bill.

I agree.turbotim2 wrote:Distributor cap/plugs/plug wires - I bet its one of these.
Change plug wires and your dist.cap and rotor
I'll bet inside it will be damp (or just plain wet)
Also pull a plug to see if it's also wet.
If water got to them they never completely dry
