Re: Bilstein Touring strut spring seat too high?

Springs absolutely do set ride height, you are correct. If you put on longer or shorter springs, spring with higher or lower rates (stronger and weaker). It is absolute and physical.

Take a moment and think about this. With a stronger or weaker spring, longer or shorter, when the strut upper mount ...

Re: Bilstein Touring strut spring seat too high?

An epilogue (long overdue).

I finally replaced these in summer of 2017 with stock Volvo branded Sachs and new Lesjofors (OEM) front springs (green equivalent). I got proper ride height and handling back. The rear ride height is also eventually affected when you use the Bilsteins. It feels right and ...

Re: Replacing CVVT Solenoid for Code P1332

My photos got knocked off in the great photobucket exodus of 2017, but I have s pretty useful set of links on a post about making a connector for this that becomes an adapter. You don't have to cut into the original harness which means you can use either connector in the future. I am pretty sure ...

Re: Soak injectors in Seafoam: good idea or disaster?

I cannot believe it would hurt them.

I soaked mine in a MOC company chemical called Vacuflush while the intake was off for the obligatory pcv system service. Intended to be slowly introduced from a pressurized, regulated tank into a running engine, this stuff is specifically targeted to dissolve ...

Re: Safe to drill here?

There are a couple of thin harnesses that route above and below the glove box but there is essentially nothing in there. I have a pretty good pic of the back of that area from when I had the dash out. If you want it, I can send it to you. I'm still shopping online photohosts after the great ...

Re: Loose vinyl on door panels

I'm guessing these screw into the metal of the door so after installing panel pads, you won't be taking your door panels off. Unlesss you ruin the panel pad to get at the screws of course.

Re: Replacing CVVT Solenoid for Code P1332

You can definitely drive it. Something to think about: For me, the mpg went up pretty significantly once I replaced the CVVT after getting the P1332 and P0013 on a semi-daily basis. I got one used one off ebay (the kind I could take apart and clean) for about $50 plus about $10 for the connector ...

Re: Bilstein Touring strut spring seat too high?

So the original is 9.75" for that same measurement and the more recent B4 struts are the same and my B4's are 10.25". So the spring seat is 1/2" higher than stock. No wonder my ride height is jacked and it rides like a buckboard.

Has anyone here contacted Bilstein directly before?
