Following up. The passenger side worked pretty well, took some effort to get the hose off of the new nozzle, but it came off. The existing passenger side nozzle came off easily. Things were a little rougher on the driver's side. The new hose tore coming off of the new nozzle, and the old nozzle ...

It's just as you see above. A hose coming out horizontally from the nozzle (that's the case on both old and new).

Stupid question here: The windshield washer nozzles on my '06 S60 have been broken since I got it (3 of the 4 little tabs that hold them down to the hood have broken off.) Replacements were cheap, so I picked up a couple of the OEM units:
