Thanks. It all makes sense. Alignment tomorrow. I already spoke with the tech and told him that I worked on one strut so the camber will be adjusted.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I've been thinking about this some more. I marked the front of the mount (facing it as I worked on it) for the lower part of the strut but not the other side. So when I put it back on, impossible to be in the exact same location, did I effectively add to the tie rod length if the bottom was kicked o...

Spring Seat Surgery

I went in today and made a no-nonsense repair by replacing a torn right front spring seat. Shocks are real tight and the mount bearing is reasonably tight. Driving the car after the repair confirms that if you can take it apart yourself you don't always have to replace everything. The front end feel...

My '02 T5 also has the Amalthea wheels with Pirelli P6 235 45 17s with no rubbing but a very wide turning circle. I'm the second owner but bought the car with the original V rated tires. (now running the same tire but way better priced and longer lasting H rated version) It's the original set up (ti...

As JRL stated there appear to be different stops for wider rims. My only experience with this is my own '02 T5 w/ original 17s which as described, couldn't turn around in New York Harbor without the aid of a pilot boat. It turns like my friend's R. So, if your car was not factory equipped with thes...

I think ek hit it. ABS related. I hear it on both my ABS equipped Volvos. I back out of the driveway and after moving forward 30-40ft. I hear a metallic sound. Some kind of reset or self-test I imagine. Now I'd worry if I didn't hear it.

My '99 V70XC has the best seats in autodom. Better than my '02 S60. Better than all the other volvos I've owned. Better than the MBs and BMWs I've owned. I could use another 1/2 inch of seat travel but other than that, almost perfect. The seats, (and the ride) are what keeps me in this car.

Oil Consumption '02 S60

What's normal to expect regarding oil consumption? My '99 V70 XC with 130K doesn't use a drop of oil between oil changes. (3-4K) Our '02 S60 T5 with 72K uses a quart (or more!) in the same period. The S60 is a manual transmission and is used mostly around town. It is driven by my wife who is a very ...
