Well, now I'm in the process of checking the vacuum hoses. some look bad One question. In the inside of the intake manifold, behind the injectors, are a series of vacuum hoses. There are 3 that are in line with each other horizontally. Then there is one off to the left between the other 3, all by it...

codes
The codes are 1-1-1 for FI and Ignition.
There isn't a socket in #5. There was a socket in #3 that didn't register any blinks.
There is another box called B with one socket connect at #2. Nothing from it either.
Is there another way to code the turbo?
Thanks for that great tip, by the way.

Excellent Bill. Did I say I love the internet.... I had located that box. Now I know how to get the codes. I'll try and digest that, and go get them all. I'll post them when I do. Is there a source for interpreting codes? Anyway, thanks so much. The more I work on this car the more I'm liking it. Ev...

new problem...
Okay, things went great. I took my time. Put a new back piece of the timing belt shroud, I bought two mechanics picks and got the seal out carefully. I used a piece of PVC sized just right and slowly tapped it on. I used White lithium grease. So, She started up first time, idled beautifully, and I l...

Well, It worked like a charm. I made sure I had had someone with a 2x4 to hold a little pressure against the socket to keep it on tight. One bump did it the next loosened it. Now on to replacing the timing belt, tensioner and I'm gonna try and do the camshaft seal. Any tricks to the camshaft seal? G...

bump... I have the car apart now, and could use any pointers. I'm gonna try and put the socket on the crank bolt, lay the breaking bar clockwise till it rests on the chassis, then bump the engine to loosen it. Am I crazy? Is lining up the timing marks as simple as turning each sprocket by the center...

Thanks for the quick reply, Bill. Is re-aligning all the marks as easy as just turning each pulley by the center bolt? I already have everything apart, except the crank pulley. I saw one post where a guy recommended putting a socket with breaker bar on the pulley, and positioning it clockwise till i...
