Re: How Do You Remove & Re-Seal the Oil Pan/Sump?
Nice rig - thanks for the photo! It helps. Here is a link to a thread with photos and details on Permatex/Loctite 518 and its application to seal oil pan . That thread says, 'the anaerobic sealant is expensive - I spent many hours searching alternatives and found what's in the dealer's tube - Loctit...

Re: pcv service
Thanks for the idea to notch the bracket - I hadn't thought of that. I used a grinding wheel on an electric drill - it took about 1/2 hour. Probably would have been easier to pull out the alternator, but since the notch will help if there is a next time...

Re: 1999 S80 Oil Pan Removal
Has anyone used Permatex 518 / LOCTITE 518™ for oil pan instead of the Volvo version? Reviews on Amazon make it look like a viable and inexpensive alternative. Anaerobic gasketing technology. Forms a flexible, solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay. Seals to 300°F and fills gaps to 0.050...

Re: 2000 s80t6 P0102 ETM Throttle Body Issue RPM Surge
I changed the PCV Valve Oil Trap & that stopped the surging. I've had the surging issue with my 2000 S80 T6. Shipped the ETM for rebuild this morning (Module Masters, $350) and will change the oil trap while I have access. Do you have any advice? I haven't pulled it yet. Are there two seals tha...

Re: 2000 S80 Turbo Control Valve, any way to test?
Thanks, Oly - I thought others might find the diagram useful and there wasn't any one diagram that tied it all together. Blowing hard in the yellow hose had no effect - the hose seemed plugged. Should that really move the wastegate? Time to replace the wastegate actuators? Hooking the red line to th...

Re: 2000 S80 Turbo Control Valve, any way to test?
Thanks Oly. I'll check the wastegate actuator as you suggest. Then after warming the engine I'll connect red to yellow, plug blue line and see what happens. Here is a diagram cobbled together from some 'borrowed' images. No points for artistry, yet this seems to be how the TCV controls the wastegate...
