Brake booster failure or you have air or water in the line (or a line leak). Get those checked ASAP, the car isn't safe to drive like that.

The piece on how to remove the CCM is -WRONG-. Don't angle it upwards. Pull out the bottom just enough to get a finger or two in, then slide your fingers up, and pull the CCM straight out.

Overheated aluminum block = new engine time.

I wouldn't reuse a TB gasket, they are more papery. Intake gasket is more metal and could be reused in a pinch, but a new one isn't all that expensive either.

Do cap and rotor. My wife's 98 V70XC would run fine at idle and light load, but if you pushed it at all, it would misfire... cap and rotor looked original. Replaced plugs/wires/cap/rotor and it ran fine afterwards.

A 98 V70 GLT? That doesn't make sense to me at least... I thought the GLT badging was only for the 850 series...
