I'll keep my eye on this thread; I would love to get mine fixed. I don't have an upholstery shop nearby, so this sounds like it would work well for me. My interior is perfect except for those stupid door panels.

98 S70 GLT Key Spin

About two weeks ago my key started spinning in the ignition. I searched the site and as usual, it seems to be a fairly common problem. I went to the stealership and ordered the mechanical portion of the ignition. The spinning got so bad, I was almost stranded a couple times. I sprayed some WD-40 in ...

I thought I was pretty handy until I tried to install a stock upper torque bushing yesterday. I made a press kind of like what is detailed in the tutorial. I destroyed the bushing in every way possible trying to press it in. I placed an order with FCP for a 3 piece poly. I'll deal with a little vibr...

I just came inside from installing the Volvo load bars on my '98 S70 (Same part number for '94 850). Couldn't be easier...no tools, just a cam lock adjuster. They mount in the little holes in the upper edge of the door sill. I didn't want to spend the big money for a whole roof rail system, so I bou...

They can only conclude it was the bonding between the 2 halves of the block that had broken down.

Good luck !!
Man, that wouldn't be cool. If the seal between the block halves was deteriorating, I would imagine you'd also have a nasty oil leak too.

That is kinda scary. Unfortunately, anything in your car is constructively YOURS unless someone else claims it. If for some reason your car was searched at some point and another little stash was found, a reasonable officer would see the stuff is old and not recently used. That; coupled with your le...

Welcome to the club. I've never seen an S70 without peeling vinyl. From what I understand, the cause is the actual foam backing under the vinyl deteriorating and the only fix is to take the panel to an upholstery shop. I've seen a couple reupholstered and the new material didn't really match the res...

Your A/C is doing exactly what mine was doing. I could shut it off for a few minutes and but a few moments of precious A/C but those minutes got longer and longer as the clutch would wear. It finally got to the point where it would only work the first part of the day. I did the clutch shim reference...

98 S70 GLT FWD(N. America) Strange hammering air sound?

Hello everyone, Just as I've gotten used to the creaks, squeaks, and other sounds in my Volvo, it started with a new one a couple days ago. It is a hammering air sound (like an exhaust leak) somewhere under, but nearby the throttle body. It happens intermittently at idle and is rythmic but not synon...
