My recently acquired questionable service history 850 T5 doesn't look nearly that good.. It almost looks like the previous owner poked around with a screwdriver given the scratches on the right.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

This latest cold snap finally did the battery in the 850 wagon in.. Noticed the dead battery was from 2014, I'm pretty happy with how long it lasted. Since it was already in the garage thawing, I decided to change the oil and finally tackle the broken glovebox. After finding various methods to get i...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Nice! I have ordered a repair kit for my friends 850 wagon so I can repair the tailgate panel. Always nice to be able to hold a conversation in the car! Neil. It's true! Now to do the same thing with the dashboard, and fiddle with the five ECC damper motors while I'm in there.. Having heat only out...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Finally got around to swapping the rear hatch wiper motor on the '97 850. While I had the hatch taken apart, I took the opportunity to fit felt pads where plastics rub in an attempt to stop some rattles and squeaks. I'm happy to report that rattles have been cut down significantly :D

Rear overload spring comparison

Hi all, Quick question, as I'm considering the purchase of a set of overload springs for my 850 wagon. Besides the price point, how much of a difference is there between these two offerings? IPD's overload springs: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/8817/Rear-Overload-Springs-P80-850-C70-S70-V70-FWD-fo...

Re: 1990 240 No Overdrive

Will do, does it say "hot" or "cold" on the stick? Yep, should be marking for both. I'd recommend going for a drive that involves shifting through all gears for around twenty minutes to get the most accurate reading. Also, it may be worth checking the adjustment of the kickdown ...

Re: 1990 240 No Overdrive

Is the kickdown cable near the throttle body connected and moving freely?

Re: 240 preheater hose recommendation?

Are you sure you need to replace it? Your location is listed as California, so I'm imaging you may not need the benefits of aid for a cold start, unless it's required for emissions testing or something.
