Re: Four-C
The four-c front strut in Canada from the parts store (Monroe 2503) is $850 each vs a regular Sachs strut being $250ish! The rear four-c shocks are similar although I haven't checked specifically. From the US they are $500 each in Canadian dollars from Viva but considering covid delays with Canada P...

Re: Four-C
I’m near Albany if you are nearby. Spring compressor, shop Press, driveway space , ability to break stuff , and general tomfoolery Unfortunately Abscate, I'm not in the Valley anymore, we moved back to Toronto. With the current border closures lasting until at least July 31st I wont be travelling s...

Re: Four-C
Thanks for the reply.
I need a suspension overhaul on both front and back of my XC-70. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost of a four-C overhaul vs a good OE replacement considering the age and mileage of the car.

Four-C
Can the Four-C suspension be taken out and replaced with non-Four-C? I assume the dashboard will light up but is there anything else I should be concerned with.

Re: Rad cooling fan
Have a look at the purple data wire connector (not sure what it's called) from fan to ECU. Mine had failed and caused hours of searching for the cause. I ended up cutting out the Volvo connector and added my own.

Re: New S60 owner here with oil pressure issues
Once the cap was off and I was cleaning it before re-installing, I heard a gritty noise when I pressed on the bottom part of the cap. Thoroughly sprayed it out until the grit was removed. The PO of my car was not frequent with oil changes, I've been amazed by all the stuff that's come out of it even...

Re: New S60 owner here with oil pressure issues
I had the same issue over the last long weekend. I didn't have a chance to get an oil change before leaving on a long road trip. On the way home the warning light came on, checked oil, everything looked OK. Message disappeared and re-appeared but I managed to make it home in the end. The next day I ...

Re: '05 XC70 + 2 canoes?
Yes, the first load was intense. My car was not happy. We have a spot outside parry sound that we go to every year. 3 lakes, 2 port ages and 7 hours later you're there from the first put in. Hauling beer that far was not great, the empty cans on the way out was much easier. We drop the fifth guy off...

Re: '05 XC70 + 2 canoes?
We also did a slight modification when loading up. We added a wide strip of plywood between the racks so we could stuff some lighter gear into the canoe on the rack (sleeping bags, tents, etc), we had too much beer for seven days and five guys inside the car. In future years we hired a float plane t...

Re: '05 XC70 + 2 canoes?
I used the A frame so my roof rack wouldn't extend past the side mirrors. I wanted to keep it compact as possible. I was also transporting 1 of those plastic 3 man Coleman canoes that was fairly wide.
