850 Tachometer Problem
The tachometer in my 1995 850 wagon has become very erratic. Sometimes when I start the engine, it never moves off 0. Sometimes it will act as though it is beginning to register, get up to what appears to be the current RPM, then drops back to 0. Other times it runs perfectly. I do not have any othe...

Information on 6 spoke/5 lug alloy wheels for 850 wagon
My car came with the 24 spoke Argo wheels (15" x 6.5 ".) While they are fine, I have always admired the 6 spoke wheels I have seen on 850's. I understand that there are two primary types in this size, the Cetus with slightly larger, rounder spokes, the Antilia with narrower, more sculpted ...

I have both the Thule door sill mounted bars and the Volvo/Thule bars for a V70. I pulled the roof rails off a wrecked V70 and mounted them on my 1995 850 wagon after I found the Volvo/Thule bars at a great price from a local seller. If you already have roof rails on your 850, you need to check that...

Motorway/Highway Gas/Petrol Mileage/Tire pressures?/Tires?
What tire pressures are people using in 850 wagons with the standard 195/60 R15 tires? My fuel door sticker suggest something like 41/36 psi (Front/Rear) for a loaded vehicle and 32/31 psi for a lightly loaded vehicle. Also, for people who have owned their 850 wagons for a while, what types of tires...

It depends on the radio. Most of the newer (2005 and later) JVC radios accept either their own input for an MP3 player or an ipod, or an external amp or CD player. The newer ipod adapter also recharges the unit as well as dislaying the ipod directories on the face of the receiver. All the selections...

Connect your iPod w/ iPod Adapter
I paid $160 for the JVC KD-HDR1 CD receiver. The JVC KSPD100 iPod Adapter was $30. The Volvo wiring harness was about $15 and the Metra console adapter (the extra cubby) was $15. $220 total. I shopped on ebay and Amazon. The radio was cheaper on Amazon but the iPod adapter was cheaper on ebay. It to...

Connect your iPod to your 850, S70, V70, XC70
I finally decided to replace the old Volvo 810 head unit in my 850 wagon. I bought a JVC KD-HDR1 CD receiver with built-in HD Radio tuner and MP3/WMA playback along with a JVC KSPD100 iPod Adapter. My old head unit was beginning to have difficulties holding stereo signals, not to mention that it was...
