Re: Vacuum hose to banjo bolt broke, where and what does it do?

cn90 - I never answered your question :). I just gave you the measurements of the plastic barbed nipple. I would say that 3mm is too small as the inside diameter of the plastic barbed nipple is 3.5. If you go with rubber 4mm may stretch enough. I suppose 3mm is possible if they warmed it up and then...

Re: 2004 XC90 Turbocharger issue

My second post mentioned putting pressure and watching the wastegate diaphragm.

Out of curiosity where did they source these? Generally they are not sold separate as they are part of the entire assembly.

Re: XC90 Front Brake Disk Replacement - Bolt not going fully back in

The calipers will slide on those pins and should true up. The unit is meant to have this movement and the pins are seated and of a fixed length. If you installed them properly you should be fine, if you cross threaded them that is another story or if anything is interfering with them being completel...

Re: Vacuum hose to banjo bolt broke, where and what does it do?

cn90 - I cannot do as you ask, but I can give you the following for part #30731007. Unfortunately mine is still in the package and I don't want to take it apart to give you exacts and that may ruin the part. Here is what I have - the outside diameter of the plastic pipe is 5.85mm (.234 inches) and t...

Re: 2005 Volvo XC90 5t

I have seen sport tune talk on the XC90 - you will need to have some coding done. Do some digging it is out there. Your power will have to come from the turbo - injectors would not be worth it - and valve springs and head work - that is crazy talk. Better off buying a used "hot" Volvo engine and put...

Re: XC90 Stripped hole on wheel hub

Just had something similar happen to my BMW. I was able to buy a tap of the correct size/pitch and fix the problem. On mine only the first few threads were messed up so after I got them repaired the lug bolt went in and gripped to torque without issue. Most better tire places have the tap on hand or...

Re: Cam bearing wear, would you reassemble?

I don't disagree with your decision. Like I said, I don't know how the head and valve cover are made. If they are line bored, meaning the pieces are put together and then the machine drills out the holes so they match, mix and match will not work (at least very well). Now if they are made separate, ...

Question: Is Adaptation needed after doing a fluid change? Answer, which is consistent with what I understand, is yes. Being lazy rather than boot up VIDA, I searched. See here: http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?27244-Transmission-Fluid-Change-Resetting-Counter-vs-Adaptation On the flip s...

Re: S80 AWD- Four Struts or Two?

I pulled up 2004 S80 AWD 2.5T at an online dealer site and it shows front struts and rear shocks. Both are pretty straight forward to replace - rear being easier. Plenty of write ups. I did them on by 2004 S80, but b/c of your awd concern I double checked. If I recall on the rear one has to take out...

Re: S80 T6 lacks power

From what I have read they do get "lazy" with age. I have heard some having luck spaying cleaner in there a few times. As it is failed/failing and you intend on buying a new one it cannot hurt. Easy enough to try, but for the price of a new one I would just replace it. Your fuel trims still look too...
