Re: 2004 T6 Compressor Bypass Valve missing???

See here for the hose you are asking about: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=88390 Let us back up - when you did the BSR upgrade did you do anything else? Was the car functioning correctly? I don't think the car has a diverter valve. The waste gate flapper seat can crack...

Re: 2004 T6 Compressor Bypass Valve missing???

I will post what I recall based off my memory for my 2004 XC90 with same engine. Working from the turbo - passenger side - from the diaphragm a short vacuum line goes to hard line hose pipe that runs on the back of the upper part of the engine. This hose rarely fails. From here it starts again with ...

Re: 2004 T6 Compressor Bypass Valve missing???

I did a little reading based on the ECM 6806 code and it may be that the computer is not happy with the signals it is getting. I don't know what a "BSR upgrade" is, but from what I have read if the stock Volvo parameters are changed one needs a tune on the software side or the computer will code. I ...

Re: Driver CV Axle Problems

I assume your car is not AWD. I don't think it is your CV if you have changed it 3X. Also - if it is out of balance it should continue to get worse the faster you go. If you still want to pursue that route source a used one. I don't think it is the tires or rim as the vibration would not go away aft...

Re: V70XC tranny "thump" before going....

With those miles and your budget this is what I would do. Pick up some Valvoline MaxLife - under $25 for the 4-5 quart jug and a bottle of Seafoam Trans Tune (not the motor stuff by transmission variant). Drain the fluid that is in there - about 2.5-4 quarts should come out. Replace the drain plug a...

Re: XC90 transmission cooler on S80?

Generic oil coolers are cheap enough - come with all the fittings.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to add an oil cooler? Does the wife use the Silver Flash for towing?

Re: Evap hose damaged but intact

I don't recall the hose fully - whether it is one piece or a section of a multi hose set up. Either way prior responses are solid. Snip the hose at the end of the cracks as suggested and see if it will plug in. Take the snipped piece to your local parts store and find some suitable replacement hose....

Re: Overheated -Hard Starting

Pull the spark plugs and look down the holes - you don't want to see clean cylinder tops as that will show signs of a failed head gasket. You can rent a tester (have to buy the fluid for it) from Autozone to test if you have combustion gases in your coolant. The fact you are not getting smoke out th...

Re: 04 XC90 t6 tach jumping no start

Thanks for the follow up and I am glad you got it sorted out. I am puzzled on how you got the code for crank position sensor which is strange. Did you clear the codes before starting the process or could the old code be one that was lingering? Is the code gone now? What scanner did you use? Did you ...
