Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
Ok, finally fixed and it was the stupidest - yet cheapest - thing ever ... the coil wires were hooked to the wrong cylinders. Thank you all for your help regardless. You allready had been pointed into that direction: ...Anyway - just to rule out the absolutely most basic thing that could cause your...

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
I'm gonna check the 12V green wire on the injectors as well as the relays that are to the left of the cooling fan. Maybe those are causing the problem.

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
Scour threads for 1999 v70 t5 coil measurement where yours truly measured and assigned pins ( I think) The coils get 12 VDC with the key on, all the time and are fired by the ECU by grounding on command You need an oscilloscope to diagnose these other than confirming supply voltage and ground I hav...

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
The coils need to be tightly screwed down as the 10 mm bolt is the ground point. With the original wiring harness I don't think you can mess up the coil plugs but the looms often self destruct on older cars, so it's worth checking , especially cylinders 4 and 5 To what do the looms on the coils con...

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
Ok I rechecked all my work and replaced all the bolts except two to the ETM, which are broken. No dice. However, I remember that when I was tightening a bolt right after finishing the PCV replacement, I had forgotten to disconnect the battery. There was visible electricty and a zzzt sound when I str...

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
I moved some of the coils around to see if it would change, and no dice. After I get out of work I will check all vacuum lines/manifold gasket. I Will report back If the missing screws are near the non-working cylinders then I would get that put right. I would not expect an ETM to work unsealed and ...

Re: 1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
I bought some used but guaranteed working ignition coils off eBay that will arrive next week Monday. I will test these and hope that they fix the problem, because refitting all that mess is such a PITA. Thank you guys for your suggestions. Glad to know the O2 system is unlikely to be the culprit; el...

1999 S70 NA PCV system fix caused misfire
Hello, I recently serviced the PCV on my 99 S70 base (230k) using the FCP euro kit. I also changed all 5 spark plugs using Genuine Volvo spark plugs. Right after finishing the PCV service and changing plugs, I had difficulty starting up the car. After getting it started, billows of white smoke came ...
