Re: Rear suspension height question...
I’m not sure what kind of car you have but if it’s a P2 then it takes a 4 wheel alignment and that should take care of your positive camber if all is assembled correctly. In a totally different scenario I got the left and right control arm backwards on my F150 and had a ton of positive camber. As fa...

Re: 2001 V70XC - tie rod replacement
I used moog problem solver on mine recently. The inners were identical, and didn’t have the different thread. The outers also have grease fittings on them. I got them from advance, because I had a store credit there. It seems like I rented a tool from advance to install them, but it didn’t fit. I ju...

Re: Rear suspension height question...
One follow up question... What should the measurements be when you have tires and wheels on the ground? I thought I understood it should be 394 mm, or 384 in my case since I screwed up. But that’s not what I got. Also, is it possible that that would tighten up the rear end for possibly better, or wo...

Re: Seat interchange, swap, exchange
And also, thank you oragex for the videos. I’m sure it takes a tremendous amount of time to make all the videos you do, and this time is added on top of however long it takes to do whatever it is you’re doing for yourself. And of course then there’s the amount of time you spend answering questions a...

Re: Seat interchange, swap, exchange
I can contribute this to the stitching discussion: I worked in quality control for a manufacturer that made the seats for Honda Odyssey mini vans. They outsourced the skins to a company in Mexico. Around the area where the air bag deploys, the stitching is indeed “different”, in that it is controlle...

Thank you.
They are all genuine Volvo. And pressing them in nearly frustrated me into a blind rage. But that’s another story.

Re: Rear spring installation
I had to make mine, and it’s makeshift, but it worked. I’m not familiar with the loaner thing here. What’s that? In my case, I had some scrap laying around that looked like the right length already, so I just welded a bolt onto each end so it could grab. I’ll try to get some pictures and dimensions ...

Rear suspension height question...
2001 V70 2.4T I just replaced all the control arm bushings in the rear end. When I was putting it back together, I read in the manual that before you torque the bolts, you have to put the suspension in the “normal” position. It said it was 394 mm from the wheel arch top to the center of the hub. Wel...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
Over the last month or so I have been working on a full suspension rebuild on my 01 V70. I have the rear end done already, and all the stuff on the front end, except subframe bushings and the front IPD sway bar. Today, I got the front sway bar in...upside down. So, it hits the tie rods. Then ran out...

Re: Can a FWD transmission be converted to work with AWD
Here is a link to a thread where a guy says he did make the conversion. He says he went from a 5 speed auto, apparently in an AWD car, to a M56 from a FWD car. It’s the last post in the thread.
