I am currently installing reman rack and the outer tie rods are 1"shorter than the ones that were on the car, should I use these or are they dangerous?

Well it is a little further on and have ordered a reman rack, (sorry oragex too nervous about getting original online and there are not enough volvos in the area to give me parts to pick from in the local yards) and also some new struts,spring seat and control arms. Anyone have any opinions on line ...

Vtl, thanks for the advice but have already gone through the fun of replacing that engine mount, also with the two hard lines I recieved a plastic spacer, any ideas where this goes? I don't remember seeing anything like that when I was mucking about last.

Thanks for the reply JRL, just to clarify does that mean I should drop the rack and make repairs in situ or remove the rack from the car. I don't currently have anything specific to hold the engine up while removing the subframe is the reason I was asking.
