Re: Volvo 850 front subframe bushings
So I did exactly what you recommended, bought the genuine Volvo bushings along with new bolts and washers, and everything is lining up perfectly now. I think the difference was the Volvo bushings have much stronger plastic wedging the bushing into the subframe, while the cheaper bushings tend to sli...

Volvo 850 front subframe bushings
Hi all, I'm having an issue with the front subframe bushings on my car. I recently replaced all 4, and while the rears remain flush against the body after torquing them down, the fronts leave a large gap in between the bottom of the bushing and the subframe, which causes a nasty clunking sound when ...

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
I read online that it was meant to allow air trapped in the oil filter to escape, rather than go through the galley. Not sure how correct that is though, I wasn't able to find much information on it.

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
Found the issue, apparently when I sent the oil pan in to be cleaned an air valve, part # 463963, was removed which I hadn't noticed. With it gone oil just drained back into the pan and didn't allow for any pressure. Got a new one and everything is fine. Thanks for the help everyone.

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
No the gears were definitely in. I was thinking of checking the pick up tube as well, guess that'll be next.

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
So I tried the method Rmind recommended, but still no pressure. I tested to see if oil was getting into the filter, and it was, but with hardly any pressure, more of a dribble. So I figured it had to be a fault with the oil pump. I just finished removing it, but everything looks fine. The spring for...

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
No, I never primed the pump. I'll give that procedure a whirl though, thanks.

Re: 1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
The pump was not replaced, everything looked in order when it was apart. The engine was rebuild because an oil line popped off, so I figured inspecting the oil pump would be a good idea. The engine was filled before it was started.

1997 850 GLT, No oil pressure
I just finished rebuilding the engine, however when I started it for the first time the oil pressure light came on. I put an external pressure gauge on and cranked the car over, and it never registered any pressure. While rebuilding the engine, I did remove and disassemble the oil pump, and did not ...
