2000 S80 T6 transmission immediately shifts 1-2-3
The 4T65EV-GT was 'rebuilt' a couple of years back using the droop method and going through the driver's wheel well. Recently the car has been stuck in limp home mode. In the process of troubleshooting I've cleaned the Trans and engine module connectors using DEOXIT, along with all the related conne...

Changing CAN bus Ohm Readings
I'm trying to diagnose faulty high speed and low speed CAN Bus circuits. I tried to tackle the low speed first, so I disconnected the UEM at the A pillar junction and took a reading of the UEM and got 118Ohms, then took a reading of the rest of the circuit and got 230 Ohms, a minute later I reread t...

UEM reporting number of remotes is zero
I've been having functional issues for a number of years but just decided to give it a go in fixing it in recent weeks. There is an intermittent connection issue with the can bus high and low speed networks, but right now the UEM is connected. The remotes stopped working in 2015, but I still have th...

Re: 2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
I'm at over 100 miles and several hours worth of driving and no abnormal function or error codes. I'm not ready to call it fixed, but so far it isn't broken.

Re: 2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
What should the fluid not smell like? Smells like trans fluid to me.

Re: 2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
I torqued all the bolts according to spec in the ATSG book and went over all bolts twice to make sure they didn't change values due to flexing. I was unable to pressure test the seals as I don't have an air compressor. I got VADIS working on a VM installation and reset the module and the car so far ...

What behavior can I expect with 'Send Prog' if VIDA DICE is working correctly?
I have a 2000 Volvo S80 T6 with 2014A running in a VM and one of those knockoff DICE units. Based off of the history of the vehicle and info from the forum I think I want to try and program one of the modules. If everything is working correctly what should happen after I hit 'send prog' underneath t...

Re: 2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
I finished the job and everything seemed great(smooth crisp shifts over 5 miles), but then the transmission started acting funny during a longer trip(burned clutch smell and a feeling of bogging down/resistance). I realized I didn't reset the transmission computer to have it adapt to all the new par...

Re: 2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
Solved. The bolts just needed time for the oil to work? Plus whacking it some more and they both came free.

2000 S80 in-car Transmission rebuild problem
I'm utilizing Oly_850's great write up to attempt my in-car transmission rebuild but have run into a roadblock; both the steering shaft u-joint retaining bolt and the rack and pinion bolt into the engine both seem like they want to shear right off. I've soaked them best I could in penetrating fluid,...
