07 S80 No heat from Dash vents, But fine on AC
I've been having issues with the heat on my S80. I don't get heat from the dashboard (with an exception of the defroster, that seems to work fine but takes forever to heat the car). I don't think I'm getting heat from the floor vents either. However I know it can't be the heater core because I do ge...

2007 S80 3.2 fuel pressure sensor removal
So I've made an few attempts to change the fuel pressure sensor, but there is so little clearance between the screw holding it on and the engine. I tried an slimmer offset screwdriver, but no dice there. The only way I've even been able to get the bit on is using my bare fingers, probably 2 mm at be...

Re: Best oil weight for S80 3.2
Nah I don't race, as long as you don't count the occasional rush to school or having an lead foot. I don't know 100% what was previously put into the car as far as oil goes. I just know from the service writer at the dealership that the guy who owned it took it in religiously for service, so I doubt...

Re: Best oil weight for S80 3.2
Thats the thing. I'm in VA where we in the past month got as low as 12. But in the summer we often hit around the 90 mark. I had been wondering since the limit is 86 for 5w30. I was wondering if I could do any better with the other oil weights in terms of engine protection since I'm running full syn...

Best oil weight for S80 3.2
I'm getting ready for my first oil change on this car. I saw that I could still stick with 5w 30, but noticed that 0w30 and 0w40 are also options. Which option would do the best for this engine? Thanks in advance.

2007 S80 3.2 common problems
My S60 found itself being totaled last week (sadly). So I'm finding myself in the market for a new(er) Volvo. I'm looking at an 2007 S80 3.2 with 113,121 miles. It appears it's had its regular maintenance (at an Toyota dealership from what the car-fax says). I know at this mileage if it hasn't been ...

Re: Do You Really Use Torque Wrench?
I do myself. I'm still somewhat of a newbie but here recently I've started to get idea when enough is enough in tightness, especially where I couldn't use one (like my laptop for example where the screws are super soft). Nothing's fallen apart on me yet (still would do it for drain plugs for GP thou...

Re: What DIYs do we need?
It's a little bit niche of an DIY but I'll suggest it anyway. For repairs involving the folding headrests (in the rear) I've had a tough time (even in VIDA) finding any reference to repairing/removal of the unit. If that could be done that would be awesome.

Re: replace alternator with used or replace voltage regulator?
I managed to find a rebuilder near me. Funny thing is when I brought my regulator in he asked where I got it I told him about FCP and the warranty. He said they sell it cheaper than he can get it! More so that they have their lifetime warranty on a regulator! :D Wound up being 80 to rebuild and it w...

Re: replace alternator with used or replace voltage regulator?
See I tried swapping out the regulator with the junkyard unit (brushes were in much better shape), had no effect when I had it re-tested. I managed to get some input though on the noise (turns out the coming from it isn't normal, shows what I know about these things). I tried doing a bit of an explo...
