Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
Just wanted to give an update. Took me awhile to get back at it. I recently changed the oil filler cap and that solved the problem of the oil leaking onto the top of the plug wells. I changed the distributor cap, plugs, and wires. Although the car runs great it still sets a P0305 code. Not sure why ...

Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
One last question. If some of the plug wires were arcing would that indicate the distributor cap is OK or should I replace everything?

Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize the gasket came off and was replaceable.

Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
Checked again and its the spark plug well directly behind the oil fill cap that was filled. The top around the cap also also had oil pooled. I will change the cap and see if that solves that as well as change the wires and plugs to see if the misfire code goes away. I will update when finished and a...

Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
Thanks Oba and FLX. I just checked the plugs and pulled the wires while it was running and 2 of the wires did not arc so I take it that means wires are bad for starters. Also one of the plug wells had a lot of oil in it. I'm sure that cannot be good. What would that be a sign of? and how difficult a...

Re: P0305 Code (misfire code)
I got the car with 250,000+ miles on it and it was neglected. I've been using it to learn on as I have never been mechanically inclined. I recntly changed the PCV, and the MAF but still runs a bit rough at slow/stop. I have no idea when the plugs and wires were changed bu they do not look stock. Pro...

P0305 Code (misfire code)
98 Volvo S70 GLT. Code reader throws a P0305 code. Car drives fine but gets a little rough when you slow to a stop. Any ideas on what causes this code? Recently replaced the MAF and that code cleared and it does run a little better. Thanks

Heater Core
I'm in the process of replacing my heater core on a 98 Volvo S70. The heater core i bought did not come with a foam strip to install and is not quite as wide as the original. Two questions: 1.) What does the foam strip do? and 2.) Any advice on what type of foam strip I should use? Thanks for the he...

Re: Popping from manifold after PCV change
Key was locked at position 0. Used a hammer to tap it past last tumbler I assume was sticking. Still need to fix it but works for now. You think it's possible to pop the lock cylinder out and run the car without a key without setting off antitheft issues? Don't want to pay for a new lock from Volvo.
