I've just finished getting my V70 on the road, extensive repairs, lowered and new R Design Wheels. I think it looks great, but it's a little gutless. It'll cruise all day at 70 and is very smooth, but I've been offered a 960 Estate 24V for song. Here's my V70 - should I stick with it or do the same ...

So - Result, I actually got hold of a set of much more modern wheels from a V50 - Cratus R Design and much later.
They needed a little light grinding to clear the hubs but I think look pretty cool - I lowered it too with R Type suspension...

Nice V70! No matter which lowering kit you use, it will make the ride harsher, even with stock struts and shocks. And the 17" wheels will make it far worse. My old 850 was lowered with H&R springs (popular kit here) and had Canistos with 225/45/17 tires on it installed. It was way to harsh...

Sounds like a bad crankshaft pulley balancer. I heard the same noise on 2 family Buick 3800 engines and a friend's Ford and in all 3 cars the balancer had broken lose of the pulley the serpentine belt runs on. All 3 cars only made noise when idling and noise went away when rpm was increased. All 3 ...
