Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
I did not remove the spark plug wires so I think those are OK. I ran the engine for about 30 minutes yesterday and drove it for a few miles. The miss is consistent across all RPM ranges if that is of any help. I did use a new intake manifold gasket but did not disturb the EGR valve other than to dis...

Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
The car has never had a tune up so I had purchased the tune up kit from FCP that included Bosch plugs, distributor cap, rotor, SP wires, injector seals, serpentine belt and oil, fuel and air filter. I haven't done any of that work yet as I was thinking that if something went wrong, like it has, I wo...

Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
Thanks sled driver. While it may be obvious to some but not to me, injecting smoke into the air intake snorkel...is that with the engine running or not? I'm not a smoker so what do you use to generate the smoke? The engine starts right up and runs; it just runs rough. I know its something I did beca...

Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
Thanks for sticking with me on this issue. Interesting that the guy in the video used brake cleaner and WD40 on his TPS and didn't damage it. I used CRC brand MAF cleaner and a tooth brush to clean my throttle body. Its not like I submerged it in some caustic cleaner. The local Pick n Pull has a few...

Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
No, I did not remove the TPS when I cleaned the throttle body. I didn't know to protect the TPS and could very well have gotten the cleaner in it. Looks like that might be a hundred dollar mistake. Is there any way to check it prior to replacement?

Re: 93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
Thanks for the quick response. My Volvo was not equipped with a bracket at the lower right corner of the intake manifold. Not sure when they started that feature or what it is for but its not on the 93 version.

93 850NA first time PCV service - failure
I have this 93 850NA that I have owned since 2000, Has 72,000 miles and PCV has never been serviced. The car has always run good and never failed me prior to this. I purchased the kit from FCP and spent a few frustrating afternoons doing the service. Having watched FCP's and Robert's you tube videos...

How to disconnect electrical plug from idle air motor?
I'm in the middle of removing my intake manifold from my 93 850NA to replace the PCV system and clean the EGR . I need to remove the electrical connection from the idle air motor and its stuck. Is it a simple push on pull off plug or is there a mechanical release that I am not seeing?
