Re: Beeeping sound from dash. Intermittent
An update- The "beeping" appears to be coming from the driver-side dash. It is noticeable but not extremely loud. It may be more of a whistle or squeak than a "beep". It seems to be brake-related; it doesn't happen every time we apply the brakes, but it occurs while we the brake ...

Re: Beeeping sound from dash. Intermittent
Hmmmm... good thought about it being the seat belt.
She said she had her belt fastened but as you say perhaps a fault with the system would make that sound.
I'll pursue.
THANKS!!

Re: Whistling sound when accellerating in 2004 Volvo S80
Any feeling for where the sound is coming from? Is it coming from the engine? Or elsewhere? My S80 is non-turbo, but when the in-tank fuel pump was giving up it made a faint whistling sound sometimes. That was clearly coming from inside the car. May not apply to your turbo but any info you can provi...

Beeeping sound from dash. Intermittent
Greetings all- My GF took my 1999 S80 2.9 away on a short trip. So the car is ~100 miles away from me. She called in a panic saying the car is intermittently beeping. The sound seems to come from the dashboard. On the phone I could hear it; a very high-pitched, long Beeeeeeeeeep. It just started thi...

1999 S80 turn signal stalk failure; resolved by reseating fuse
Greetings all. I have a 1999 S80 non-turbo that has been in the family since new. It is now my GF daily driver. A few days ago the turn signal stalk died. No turn left or right turn signals, the text window control stopped working, couldn't flash high beams, etc. Essentially none of the turn signal ...

How to open jammed cup holder
Greetings. The main cup holder in my 99 S80 is jammed closed. How can I get it open? This is in the front console, just in front of the storage bin. It opens with a clam-shell door that slides down in front of the cup holder. It is *not* the “pop-out” cup holder. I hope that makes sense. My wife put...

How to maintain computer memory when changing batteries?
My car is a 1999 S80 2.9. I need to install a new battery in my S80. The owners manual says to turn off and remove key, wait 10 minutes, then change the battery. Battery is in the trunk, with easy access. So I presume there are no radio codes to contend with. BUT -- I expect I will lose all the radi...

Re: Replaced front brakes 3x, still on original rears. Normal?
Thanks everybody. It looks like I was over-thinking this.
FWIW the fluid has been changed regularly, and it has been well cared for generally.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Replaced front brakes 3x, still on original rears. Normal?
Greetings everyone. I have a 1999 S80 with ~80k miles. This was mom's car until a year ago. It has been meticulously maintained throughout its live by dealer or Volvo specialist indie shops. I was looking through the maintenance records, and I noticed that the front brakes have been replaced about e...
