Water pump locked and threw the timing belt. Bent valves & head off to the machine shop. Put all back together again, retimed from scratch and replaced vacuum lines as needed. PCV job done last summer. Runs great, but whirring likely from the turbo only under load. Has boost and no leaks. Any ...

Water pump completely seized and threw off the timing belt.

Replaced the pump and belt. Aligned the intake and exhaust cams at the top marks and the crankshaft to it’s mark. Is this TDC?

I’m assuming the valves are bent and it grenaded. Compression test showed zero on 1,2 & 4 and 90 on 3.

My 2006 S40 T5 blew the head gasket, our worse.

The 2012 T6 has 78k miles for $15k maybe less and the 2016 T5 has 19k miles for $21.

Both are fun to drive and I'm leaning towards the T6, but the 4 cylinder T5 was impressive too.

Just asking what other folks would do if they were going to purchase ...
