Re: Exhaust from R fit XC70 07?
Yes it will. You may have to trim the bottom of the bumper a little bit with a Dremel under the dual tailpipe extensions. It can be done easily enough Is the flange to the CAT the same size as well? No problem modifying the bumper cover. Are there additional hangars needed for the dual exhaust or i...

Exhaust from R fit XC70 07?
Hello, We have a 2007 XC70 with ~110K miles on it. The PO stored it outside and the Wisconsin winter did a number on the exhaust system. The muffler, hangars and rear pipe from the muffler have rusted off. Will the exhaust from an R model fit on the XC70? What is different from the CAT back? I see l...

Re: 2001 C70 VVT Big Oil Leak ???
It is possible the VVT hub itself is leaking oil, as it is oil filled. The T50 cap on that hub has an o-ring on it, and it may be leaking. Otherwise, if you have the hub off already, I would do the seal just for peace of mind. +1 to this being easier than BMW VANOS. These cars actually have a prett...

Re: 2004 S40 oil leak in timing belt area
I just fixed my VVT hub as it was bathing the entire engine compartment to some degree. See the thread I posted on doing the repair. You will need a cam locking tool. To repair the hub, you will need a locking pliers with new jaws, three M7 x 16mm button head socket screws and the replacement o-ring...

Re: 2002 V40 S40 Front Wheel Bearing Replacment Process?
The process was not fun. If you know you are not going to do it for several days, make sure you apply lots of PB Blaster or other effective penetrant to all of your studs, fasteners and toward the CV to knuckle interface. I did this on the ground and it took 8 hours total. Now that I have done this ...

Re: 2002 V40 S40 Front Wheel Bearing Replacment Process?
I will venture off and document the process. This is the best I could find from another site: The front wheel bearing is pressed on. You will need to remove the knuckle from the car. Remove the wheel. Disconnect the tie rod end. Loosen the axle. Remove the control arm. Unbolt the brake caliper brack...

VVT hub and oil leaks on 02 V40 wagon. What a messy job! $40 in parts and 16 hours of trial and error!

Re: 2001 C70 VVT Big Oil Leak ?
I had a monster leak on a 2002 V40 that I just purchased. I bought it thinking it was just a cam seal that let go. I just completed seal and o-ring replacements on the entire right side of the engine. It ended up being the little plunger in the VVT hub that was the source. The o-ring came apart in p...
