Re: B5254S head into B5234T block
The NA heads have bigger valves, bigger ports and if you mill the head a little increase compression just enough to increase the power at low RPM's to make the 850 turbo fast everywhere in the RPM range. Don't worry about the valves not being sodium filled, Porsche, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes don't use...

Re: 1998 S70 T5 -- need to buy engine mounts, confused
My question would be why are you changing the mounts? Your mechanic advised you of such or are you experiencing a lot of vibration in the car. If the later is what's happening change the mount on the right side of the car. You can see it when you take the front right wheel off. The other 2 unless br...

Re: Volvo 850 S2 Transmission Solenoid Replacement w/Pics
Many of our transmission problem stem from bad radiators. Once the radiator breaks water leaks into the transmission causing the transmission to shift funny or stop drive altogether. I changed my shift solenoids but no change in performance. I ended up changing the transmission which today for a 850...

Re: Should a/c compressor cycle on/off while driving?
I should point out that, if I race it off the line then let off the AC will stay on, it only happens if I drive continually faster than 2000 RPMs. Also, I can turn the AC off and after a few moments it will kick back on but that only happens once in a while. Cooling Fan or Compressor? Never mind gh...

Re: Should a/c compressor cycle on/off while driving?
The compressor will not kick in unless car is restarted.

1994 850 Turbo AC inoperative MVSOLVED Clutch gap problem
I own a 94 850 turbo where the AC will not cool above 2000 RPM's. While idling the AC is cold and will cycle once in a while the gauge shows levels are good. It works fine as long as I keep the RPMs below 2000 which is real hard. Once I over the 2000 RPMs the compressor will not kick in until the ca...

Re: '96 850 R - ARD Green Tune
Adding an high flow exhaust will only make your cars accelleration worst. Oh once moving it'll be faster than now. I have a 96 850R and I put an exhaust on thinking it would make my car really run. What it did was move the powerband up instead of coming on at 3000 rpms it was 3300 rpms and even then...

Re: Oil in water reservoir , 1995 850 turbo, 140K
I lost the heater core in my 94 950 turbo and soon had oil in the bottle as well. But my bottle doesn't continually fill up it just gets oil in it that turns to gunk. I spoke with a mechanic friend of mine that immediately said he thought the problem was from a leaky seal around the oil pump. The oi...

Re: ECU upgrade feedback
I chipped my cars when they had 150K+. The benefit for you and the rest of us is the check engine light doesn't come on anymore. Oh yeah, the extra power is nice too. You could also try buying a manual boost controller. They are about $40 and allows your car to pull more boost which makes more power...
