I have a theory as to what this part (thought to be half a main bearing that found it's way out and into the front of the motor) actually is. I don't believe it would be possible for a bearing to do this let alone a motor going another 100K in this condition.

Turns out that somehow the alternator belt had broken during the jump... complete mystery.
