What is this? Wire ring fell from wheel.

What is this? I've been bangin' around alot in order to change ball joint/control arm. I took the wheel of and this wire ring fell to the ground. Measures 64.5mm. Anyone know where it came from?... Dale

Re: Best brand left cv axle for replacement, 1998 V70

Get factory Volvo (GKN) axles and re-boot them. I have not heard of any aftermarket P80 axles that are anywhere near the quality of the factory ones.

For P2 cars where replacement GKN axles are still available from the parts suppliers, even these axles are not up to par with the ones originally ...

Best brand left cv axle for replacement, 1998 V70

What brand do you recommend to replace left cv axle on 1998 V70? Can't find Volvo, GKN or Loebro. Reviews for every other brand all mention possible vibration. I'm leaning toward DSS but even they are said to often have vibration. Thanks...DaleL

Re: PO172 97 850 NA

Did januwan get the info he needed? I do like matthew's solution.

I just did a PCV kit on my v70. I think its pretty much the same engine. I attached a picture to be sure. I looked at it again and it would be pretty tough getting the elbow into the wider hose that goes under the manifold. Probably ...

Re: Fuel Injector Wiring Connector seal... '98 v70

Bought some really cheap EV1 compatible connectors that appear to have these seals in them. I'll pull the seals out of them.

Fuel Injector Wiring Connector seal... '98 v70

Need two of the white rectangle seals that go between the fuel injector and the wiring connector. Can't even find a picture of these anywhere on the 'net. Where/how can I get some of these? Or, are they part of the injector or part of the wiring connector? ...Dale

Re: V70 stalls when warm. Reason to suspect Fuel Pulse Damper

Replaced the cam seal, vented a oil filler cap and drove it around the parking lot. May be getting overconfident but... I think I'm now going to do the PCV kit myself... Dale

Re: V70 stalls when warm. Reason to suspect Fuel Pulse Damper

If you dont plan to turn the engine during seal replacement- just make a photo of before and note the direction of rotor. Reassemble in reverse order.

My plan was to mark it with chalk or white acrylic paint (comes off easy) and take too many pictures. Hope is that nothing moves when I back out ...

Re: V70 stalls when warm. Reason to suspect Fuel Pulse Damper

Clarification of above post. The distributor is not used to timethe engine like on a classic old car; that is all done with sensors and electronics and is non-adjustable.

You do have to have the plate and drive dog correct or else the motor won’t run, I spent a few weeks with a 1998 learning ...
