Re: 2004 S40 build audio/interior
Nice work on the rear deck, my compliments. Just a thought. The rear seat armrest/cup holder can be turned into a nice speaker cabinet for a small sub or pair of small subs. Something on the DL. Think a pair of Focal 13WS or a pair of Kicker CWRT671. Bassbox pro can give you the right dimensions for...

Re: XC60 blower motor failure
Follow up. In the weeks that have passed since doing this repair, it occurs to me that I didn't really describe how the dash comes out. Below I will outline the steps I performed to get this done. Sorry, I didn’t take pics. The XC70 video is somewhat useful, but mostly not. The take aways from that ...

Re: New member needing assistance with Timing belt
Good video, and alschnertz is definitely a good source of information. Something to keep in mind, since I assume you are working with the engine installed in the engine bay. To that end, you'll remove the accessory belt and associated components, then remove the passenger side engine mount. To remov...

Re: Cold start . Rpm dips
Align and Tap ... Tap! it back down with a rubber mallet. Make sure you don't damage the O-Ring. +1 If you do damage it though, the fix is to remove the fuel rail, which is easily done, but when you do, you will remove all the fuel injectors with it, except possibly the one with the damaged o-ring ...

Re: Head gasket job. Won't start
I was able to remove all the carbon with the right wire wheel and patience. Lapped all the intake valves. Started on the exhaust valves and they seemed out of round. All of them. Looking at the pistons, I can see some marks on the exhaust side. Must have slammed those valves into the pistons when I...
