Relay confirmed. Did the relay room temperature/ relay -7 in the freezer. Worked warm twice. Before and after freeze. I’m ordering an ECT just to have on hand. Thanks everyone for all your advice. It’s greatly valued!!

Re: Cold start issues.
Hmmmm. If worst case scenario, I’ve heard of other bizarre issues taking place when said “crank sensor” acts up. Depending on where it’s located and degree of complications involved I can probably do it myself. Was the charge you got from the stealership a hefty one? Just in the event I need to brin...

Re: Cold start issues.
One question about the ECT. If that were faulty, wouldn’t a check engine light come on? With an error code?

Re: Cold start issues.
That’s a brilliant idea. You know I never thought to try a can of starting fluid. Heck I’ve got two in the garage. That’s by far the best “base” test. (I was looking too far inside the box vs looking outside of it for somewhere to start).
Thanks

Re: Cold start issues.
Ok. I’ve ruled out condensation in the system. Last Monday morning it failed to start even with leaving the ignition on. Tank was 2/3rds full. Temperature -10. Motor rolled over. Fired once and died. Wife and myself pulled it home. Added a bottle of Heet to it. Put in the garage until that night whe...

Re: Cold start issues.
Where is the access located? Is it on the rail the fuel injectors are on? I think there’s a scrader valve on the end. I did have a dist cap go out on a car years ago. I’ll check to see if it has one. A new set of plugs wouldn’t hurt either.

Re: Cold start issues.
That sounds about right. Pressure would make sense. What should the pressure read?

Re: Cold start issues.
That’s what my original thoughts were too. But, the only difference is that if I leave the ignition on for a full minute before starting, I’ll fire and stay running. It would seem to me that if it were flooded it would have more trouble. Anything let’s say above 30 degrees it’ll start and run fine. ...

Re: Cold start issues.
Temp needle goes a little higher than 3 o’clock position. But, once it’s there it stays there. I don’t know anything about an ECT sensor. Where it is or what it does.
