Did a transmission fluid change today - v8 s80
Just thought I’d share since a lot of people get nervous with trans fluid changes ... I have a 2007 s80 v8 with 142,000 miles , pretty well maintained and never had the fluid changed ... did 3 drain and fills with mobile 1 3309 and added a quart of Lucas trans “fix” . There was no real reason aside ...

Re: 2007 S80 hood switch harness location
You might be looking in all the wrong places. Some of these cars have a hood open sensor, Anti-theft or no Anti-theft. At least some of them work like the light switch on your refrigerator door. I’ll keep looking .. I’m pretty sure the previous owner removed it . He said the hood stuck so he took t...

Re: 2007 S80 hood switch harness location
Maybe it’s the switch for cars equipped with alarm ? An electrical switch in the hood lock would be for the Anti-theft. For security reasons, there is not much lot published on the Anti-theft system. Your best option is to go to a pick-in-pull and look through the S80s until you find one with a fac...

Maybe it’s the switch for cars equipped with alarm ? Not entirely sure . It’s a wire harness coming out of the hood latch with a small plunger type toggle switchRickHaleParker wrote: ↑09 Jun 2018, 02:29 High resolution image. Three levels click to zoom.

High resolution image. Three levels click to zoom. 2018-06-09.png Do you have the schematic on the location of the hood switch harness ? The small toggle that trips the “hood open” on the dash? It’s a female end coming off the driver side latch but I can’t find the harness on the car side to plug i...

2007 S80 hood switch harness location
I picked up an 07 S80 and the previous owner hacked the hood release switch, and cable on the driver side . I picked up a new latch WITH the switch on it , but the harness on the car side is nowhere to be found . Can anyone give me the location of the harness on the driver side or maybe a picture of...

Re: Intermittent immobilizer issue
OK SO I FIGURED IT OUT **** When I got the car , I removed the cluster for a new one and when I did , I programmed the mileage to be sure it was accurate and I had no mileage discrepancy... ONCE I did that my issues began . Fast forward to now , I found that when the “immobilizer “ and “service colu...

Re: Intermittent immobilizer issue
Do you have two keys in the car? Sometimes when two keys are in the car the immobilizer energizes RFID chip both keys and the two RF signals confuse the immobilizer. If you have two keys on the same key ring, take one of them off the key ring. Some people have reported having problems with the immo...

Re: Intermittent immobilizer issue
For intermittent electrical problems, first look for loose or corroded connectors. If you are in an area where the car is exposed to salt. The is salt highly likely to be the root cause. I checked all the connections top to bottom , and the car is extremely clean. No salt issues , rust or corrosion...
