1 month follow up. Since replacing my clogged pcv system with 5/8" fuel hose, I've gone from burning one quart of oil per month down to 1/4 quart per month. 1997 850 GLT with 195,000 miles. Quite happy with that.

Yes. The 1/4" fuel line for vacuum from passenger side of manifold to ptc. Inside the plastic hookup (actually 3/8") you can see a pinhole. I did not drill it out this time.

Ok, replaced the PTC, idle issue and code is gone. I had drilled out the bottom of the PTC AND the vacuum hook up. That must have created too much vacuum. Now I just drilled out the bottom of the PTC.

cool. Just wanted to make sure brake fluid wouldn't ruin anything. Will prob use carb cleaner to be safe.

I bought a used 16T turbo with low mileage. It appears to be in great condition - turbines are good and I see no carbon or burnt oil on the inside. The outside has smudges that I am cleaning with carb cleaner. The wastegate flap I have sprayed with PB blaster to make sure it rotates nicely.

based on that location, it could easily be blowing from the transmission cooler lines that connect into radiator. A bad or pinched oring are common leaks.

yeah, i heard some say drill out the PTC, and some say go with a larger diameter vacuum hose. Maybe we should only do one or the other? Will reply after this weekend with my result.

I've successfully done IM gaskets so many times, I doubt it's that. When I just half kink the vacuum hose to ptc, the idle goes way down. Kink it all the way, and it almost stalls. Bit of a follow up, car gave me a code 505 day after pcv work. Idle issue. Car def feels like there is a big vacuum leak. I double checked my work, all look good. But I think I drilled out the PTC hole for vacuum line too much. The vacuum hose to the PTC is just too much vacuum now. Will have to ...
