850 Turbo Wagon ran out of gas

Post by jwalker @glenro.com »

I need help, my wife ran the car out of gas & now it won't start after putting gas into it. Does anybody know if this could have caused a problem with the fuel pump? Perhaps clogged the fuel filter?

Where is the fuel filter?

Help, Jeff

Your Volvo might have sucked the sludge off the bottom of the tank.

Here's more on the fuel filter, where it is and how to change it:

A little more information to add for help. The reason the car wouldn't run is the fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. It will run for a minute before blowing & sometimes for 30 minutes. This is of course after filling the fuel tank. Do you guys think this could be because the fuel filter is clogged?
