Stripped AC drier threads taking hose 9171319 off

Had to put torch to it and a lot of muscle like others, but it finally came off stripping the old threads.
Now hose won't thread on new drier.
Any options other than buying new hose?

The 9171319 Volvo suction hose from dryer to compressor is discontinued but there are some decent aftermarket ones out there.

Junkyard is also an option , m6 internal hex to release compressor, cut off wheel got the dryer

If you get it to pick the Last two threads. It only has to compress the o-ring, it isn’t a flare seal

had a look at compressor connection after I read your old thread about better to loosen fitting in a vice.
Could not really see how to get a socket wrench in there or even my hand with any strength leverage. Is drain and remove radiator the only way?

There is a link in that thread about pushing 24 inches of socket extension from the left side of the engine ( driver side) and getting the internal m6 but firm;y into the screw that holds the suction line in. It’s tight but doable.

If the internal hex strips, go to an external fluted screw extractor, that will get it.

Here is the access on a turbo. A ball head hex bit will help with approach

Mine did that to me too on the 854. Hunted down a used hose.

I’ll measure the size and pitch this morning. Maybe worth a tap to try and recover the expensive hose ?

Skandix has it for $100, there are a couple of scary $15 options on RockAuto

Suction hose , dryer fitting
O ring seal , not a swage or a flare
27 mm nut size
24 mm counterhold

When I look at your photo it looks like the compressor is on top. My 98 has alternator on top with compressor underneath it

I did find hollow taps but they were in a professional mechanics $200 kit

Ouch, that’s too much.

$15-20 per tap on Amazon

The 1999 model still has ps pump, alternator, ax compressor mounted in descending order but all three components are 1999-2000 only in both function and fitting.

Had to remove dipstick and used a shorter handle 3/8 socket wrench with a deep socket over it and an extension on the socket to get leverage.
Because I opened the drier I got an Amazon suction hose that came the next day. Got that on put it on the vacuum for an hour, let it sit overnight and no leak.
Today I will put everything back on that was removed for access to the drier and orifice tube then fill it with the 134a
