O2 sensor location

hi all,
my 98 v-70 threw a code today
p0136 bank 1 sensor 2
is this the O2 sensor in front of my cat. ?

Sensor 2 is after the cat.

would the O2 sensor b4 the cat throw the same code? (p0136)
only reading sensor 1 ?

That code is for the rear one.

P0136 is a signal missing fault on the rear (after the cat) sensor. Check the wiring harness and the connector first. The P codes for the front sensor are P0133, P0134, and P0135.

thanx guys i'll check the connections first.
had a price of $145 + tax for a new O2 sensor
but it is not OEM, (manufactured by walker)

For that money you should be able to get an OEM and have no fear of it working. The Beck/Arnely - Walkers - and even the Bosch universals have spotty records at best.

Try giving Darryl Waltrip Volvo a call at (800) 689-0021.

Ask for Jamie or Don. I have not yet used these guys but everyone raves about the prices and service. The phone call is free.
