1995 volvo 850 speed sensor location
i am in dire need of help! my check engine light came on, need to replace the transmission speed sensor in my '95 model 850 stationwagon. i have the haynes repair manual but still cant seem to locate where the speed sensor is, even with the small picture it has with the diagram. anyone have any idea where it is or can pull up a more distinct picture of it? i have the part just need to put it in asap. thanks.

Here is the auto tranny part of the service manual, you can find it in fig 2 on page 2. BTW, you mean the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) right?

It is the trans range sensor..it controls my odometer and rpms..but i dont know which sensor, number 5 or number 7 fixes that
If your car is an auto then the speed sensor is on the rear of the gearbox next to the rear engine mount on the right hand side as you look from the front. RPM sensor is on the top of the automatic gearbox housing but you need to seperate a connector box to get 15 and 16 pin.
Make sure you get the correct one to match your cluster
