Volvo calls this an “ engine pad”
Lots of part numbers on this one.
$120 I Volvo, $30 in FEBI or Rein
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... -8631698-1
This mount has two M10 bolts into the subframe and two m8 bolts into the engine lock, through a Copper alloy metal part bonded to rubber
I found really bad galvanic corrosion on my m8 bolts and heavy rust on the m10s, I will replace this hardware later.
The m8s are easy to remove after moving the left wheel and wheel liner ( fold and hold out of way after removing two m6 plastic nuts)
The M10s, 17 mm hex head are much harder. I was just able to get my open end on it and get it started. That’s a highly undesirable tool for a stuck fastener as it has only two points of contact.
With the harmonic balancer and TB off you can come straight down with an impact, which I would recommend over rounding that bolt off,
You do need a jack under the oil pan with wood or hockey puck to position the engine for reassembly.

Re: Notes on P80 passenger side engine mount, 8631698
I find this one aspect of service parts stupid! Two of my engine mounts have been changed. Both are simply called "engine pad" so I don't know which two... you would think they could come up with a descriptive name for each one identifying location. Also what is a torque rod? It seems some on here are referring to some sort a transmission mount, while others seem to be talking about the mount connected to the bar connecting the struts. June

The engine rest on three pads, one front and two on the subframe
The twist of the engine is handled by two torque rods...one up top right next to the master cylinder and one underneath on the transmission to subframe
The names are totally unsearchable so people who use part numbers on MVS get a free ride in my Man Beetle

I'd like to know too? Genuinely want to know. Personally I have not posted like that. but if I should have a question regarding a part number what would be the correct way?850oldschool wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 12:35 pm Every time I see a part number in a subject line it makes me smile. Abscate: does it have the massage option too???
I have looked up the part numbers of the "engine pads" replaced and both basically look the same. One I did see the old one. I really have not had a broken engine mount situation. Really it's a miracle since I floor it regularly. One mount was replaced to fix a vibration which turned out to be a CV joint. The other because it was out for another reason so I asked for a new one rather than putting the old one back. The old one looked a little compressed.
I wonder if my habbit of applying the parking brake in neutral, then park once car has settled has kept my car from breaking mounts?. June

Re: Notes on P80 passenger side engine mount, 8631698
I just love this level of detail. 95% of the time there is one and only one part number which will work in a particular application, and abscate puts them right there in the subject line along with a trove of useful information in the first post.
I guess I'm easily amused.
