Hello,
I had an inspection done a XC90 V8 I'm considering purchasing. These were the photos the shop provided with the text:
"During the inspection, we observed a noticeable leak from the timing cover
seal. Additionally, there are other areas beneath the engine exhibiting signs
of fluid presence, though we were unable to identify specific sources at this
time."
I know timing cover leaks are a known issue, any guesses as to the other with the unidentifiable source?

Might be old PS fluid, might be a seeping water pump, might be from the oil cooler, there's really nothing other than that to leak. I see folks write about RMS issues but in my estimation those are rare and most are misdiagnosed PS pump leaks. Timing cover is seeping versus outright leaking, that's a good thing. You could always scope the back CB shaft valley if you're really doing this assessment in detail, see if there's a hole or not- https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/new- ... ft.666250/
Does not look bad at all TBH, seep progression is reasonable for the motor.
