Coolant Outlet Hose 2007 XC90

Post by swaneycpcc »

Hi, I'm trying to replace the water outlet hose (30774513), which the lower radiator hose connects to on a 2007 Volvo XC90 3.2L. I couldn't find any other threads on this.

I can't figure out how to get the quick connect separated between the inlet and the outlet hose, because it seems to be some sort of quick connect. I'm not positive how the connection works, but from the new part it seems like you just rotate the gray part compared to the black part (see link below or search online for part 30774513). On the old part, still on the car, I can't see to get the gray end to rotate compared to the black plastic since there is very little clearance, and the rest of the black plastic tore so when I try to rotate the gray plastic the black plastic just rotates with it.

The part looks like:

For my LR2 with the Volvo 3.2 engine when I replaced that hose it was very difficult to get the gray part to unlock

The metal pipe that it connects to has two divots that the gray plastic snaps into

By rotating with respect to the metal pipe the latch will be released and then you can disconnect

You might have to break the gray plastic latch

Good luck

Here is a picture of the divit in the metal pipe that the gray latch engaged with

By rotating the gray part with respect to the metal pipe the latch will be released and then you can remove the hose

But remember that there is a O ring so it will likely still take some effort

Good luck

Paul
