Replacing Sway bar links on 2001 S80 (Tools?)
Replacing Sway bar links on 2001 S80 (Tools?)
I tried replacing the links today and could not get them off the car with just a ratchet (probably using the wrong size ratchet). It looks like the bolt has an allen wrench fitting in the middle of it. What size ratchet, and what size allen wrench am I supposed to use? I hope this will fix the clunking sound I am getting when hitting bumps. If not- I am replacing struts and strut mounts/seats.

Front or rear?
As I remember for front you need a 18mm wrench at the top side and a star 35 or 40. Bottom side never made me problems, so I guess you did that bolt with ease but it was a little smaller - 16 by memory.
We are speaking for this link, right?

p.s. Find a way to lock the star in position, and do the presure with the wrench.
Other idea - use spray for rusty bolts, or in case you haven't got you may use some brake fluid instead.
And if none of those worked the last step is to cut it with the grinder, but be very carefull (for the car and for yourself)
GOOD LUCK

Here it is a video for replacing the rear one. It's for V70 but the part number is the same for almost all P2 cars.
Method shown here is the same to be used when replacing front ones, too.
GOOD LUCK
