1998 S90 Both low beam headlights out

Post by anbran1 »

Hello

All of a sudden, I have no low beam headlights.

The high beams work great (but for some reason, the high beam lever won't stay in the high beam position)

Does that normally happen if a relay fails?

Ideas?

Thanks

850 owners seem to have success with mods to the switch. You can go to your relay box and try swapping the relay with another similar one to rule out the relay. If it is the relay, they are easy to re-solder.

This may be related to a problem I had with my 1988 Volvo 765 Turbo. There is a rectangular relay (the size of 2 standard relays) on the left side of the relay panel.

I switched the HL switch with a known working one..."Success!" It's the switch! Problem solved!

Thanks!
