Seeking B5254T7 used engine for my C30
Hello!
First time poster and recent first time Volvo owner. I'm located in Portland, OR, and I just ruined my 2009 C30's engine from an overheating event (temp sensor told me nothing
). The head is shaped like a banana
, and the block is rusty
(had to order the tool to remove the cam cover, so it rusted in that time)! So, I'm on the hunt for a replacement engine. Anybody PNW local have an engine they'd sell me? Or any leads on where might have one? My first choice is always to buy from someone local who knows what they're selling. Of course, I can get one from LKQ or similar, but you all know how expensive and risky that can be. Opinions, advice, leads much appreciated

Just be careful. These cars get their oil pans hit regularly on those concrete blocks in parking lots. People then run them dry and take out the main and big end bearings. I've also read of several P1 cars with engine knocks. Not something I have heard with other Volvo models on a regular basis. Ideally if you can hear the engine running is best, as even a warranty is not much help when you need to swap an engine due to the time it takes.
Recently my Volvo mechanic buddy and I swapped a P1 T5 engine into a P3 S60 T5. It needed him to change the oil pan and the accessory bracket if I recall but it was not terrible. If it is an automatic, just watch out the flex plates are a different size. The P1 in slightly smaller and the P3 is larger.
There used to be a SAAB and Volvo specialist parts breaker near Sacramento. They changed their name so not sure what they are called now.
Good luck!
Neil.
