MAP Sensor confusion '08 XC70

Post by Faust »

After pulling a bunch of codes, I became satisfied that my MAP sensor was cooked. I ordered a replacement from NAPA and received the MAP sensor they listed for my car. When I attempted to replace it, I found the sensor was totally unlike mine. Although I can't find the info now, in my research I am reasonably certain that I found a reference to a 3 wire connection for '08. The part supplied by NAPA requires a 3 wire connection. The sensor on my car has a 5 or 6 wire connector, quite similar to my '05 parts car. NAPA, and everyone else lists a different sensor for '05 and '08. The sensor on my '08 is visually different from the one on my '05. The markings on my '08 sensor indicate it is a Denso 602. Can anyone make sense of this? I once had a California Volvo which had different emissions fittings.

I just checked IPD. They show a sensor that looks very much like mine. Looking at several other suppliers, they all show a picture of a sensor much like the one NAPA sent me. Unfortunately, IPD is 7-10 days away and my need is desperate. I may just try my local boneyard which has 5-6 '08's
