Hello, I'm French and I apologize in advance for any typos because I use Google Translate.
So, I'm having a problem with my driver's power seat. I can get it to work for 30 seconds after opening the door, then nothing after that.
Before, I could adjust the seat even while driving, but now I can't.
I do have 12V coming to the module under the seat. I disconnected the green connector, leaving the black tip of the multimeter on the black wire of the gray connector next to the green connector. With the red tip of the multimeter, I tested each pin of the module and found no voltage.
Is the problem with the module under the seat, a relay, or a fuse?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello.
1. Focus on power supply to the module.
2. Get yourself an incandescent test light(you can make yourself one, but better buy one from local autoparts store or amazon).
3. Start the car and wait until seat will no longer move.
4. With car running check power supply to the grey connector with your test light. You should backprobe it(connector attached and you are using needles or t-pins to get contact). It should light bright. If no light-verify your test light working(check on battery)and if good, verify contacts. If still no light- your issue is with prior to connector.
5. If the light is bright and the seat is not moving- turn off the car. Remove Grey connector. Inspect if the connector pins are not spread or show signs of corrosion. Can try to tighten connectors with small screwdriver or properly remove from connector and tighten.
6. Reinstall connector. If no improvement-module is your likely problem.
7 check local salvage yard for one, sometimes it is cheaper to buy entire seat than 1 module.
Thats where I would start. Good luck

There might be software that inhibits sent movementwhile driving. The Germans would never let you do that. My 2005 allows seat movement 30 seconds after key off, then it stops. Sounds like software?

My '07 seats move anytime, even without the key in the car, driving and parked. Must be a regional software thing.

Bonjour Monsieur ca va (thats nearly all my French) Im going to Paris in March so i need to practice. Did you use your multimeter at the fuse ? if there is no 12v there im not sure what is the problem. You may need to run a similar size wire from the fuse box as a "work around"

could also be the seat memory module, if using a different key it will migrate to the memory set for that key and remain there unless the program button is pressed to re-position the seat.darylrobert wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025, 19:06 Could be a relay, working at first then overheating. search for power seat relay location
The buttons are in a bad location for spills and getting clogged up, considering the controls do work briefly...I would look at that.
Window gets left open and rain gets in there..etc.
I posted links to the test proceedures and seat circuit diagram for 2001 s60 from CHARM.
