1991 740GL auto catalytic converter

Post by aberry »

Can anyone point me in the direction of somebody in London to fix my catalytic converter which is causing fumes in car and rough running (throwing out black exhaust fumes). I need to employ someone who can keep my old workhorse on the road.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The catalytic converter can't be 'fixed'. If it has developed a fault it will need to be replaced. Any good exhaust supplier will fit a new one. You should find an independent supplier in Yellow Pages or you can go to Halfords, KwikFit, Charlie Browns or one of the other big chains. Fitting should be free.

Shop around as prices vary considerably. For the last cat I bought I had a price range from £99.00 to £350.00. I went for one at £115.00 as it does the same job as the most expensive and had the same warranty.
