I have to replace one of the control arms on my S80. Vadis calls for tightening the bolts with torque and tightening to 90 degrees using an angle torque gauge.
I have never used an angle torque gauge, and had not even seen one until I looked into repairing the control arm.
What is this for exactly, is it imperative that I use one?

Angle tightening is supposed to be a more precise way of prestretching the bolt than just "torquing." You tighten to the specified torque, then continue to turn the specified angle from the point at which the torque was reached. The gauge is a glorified protractor. You can just estimate the angle if you don't want to buy the gauge.asummers wrote:I have to replace one of the control arms on my S80.
