They %&^*&#@ SQUEEL. Back on the lift it goes. I hate this crap.

FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!

After my last post I visited the local NAPA. I picked up some Ceramic Extreme Brake Parts Lubricant. I coated any and all contact surfaces and pins with this stuff and you guess it. IT WORKED!!

It has been 9 days and not a peep. If the squeel comes back I will let you know, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Well guess what? My right rear brake squeel is back. Not only that but it has a vibration too.

While trying to find another fix, I did some research and I seem to have found a fix for the vibration, its a shim service kit that looks as if it is a 1/2 of a shim that would cause the pad to tilt some and hopefully sit flat on the rotor. It is an OEM part and was bought at the dealer.

Has anyone utilized these shims and if so did it work, or am I on a wild goose chase? Am I on the right track and could this also be the issue I am having with the squeel all along?

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

man im dreading the fast approaching day that i have to change my rear pads in my 93. neither of my 850 have any sort of squeel. i have auto zone carbon metalic on the front of the 93. dont kmow thats on the 94 turbo.

About a year ago, I changed out front rotors & pads. Went with OEM, purchased directly from local dealer (crazy or what?) While they ARE quite dirty, I haven't heard the slightest noise from them...under all driving conditions.

My two cents.

I'm ordering those OEM pads from FCP Groton today. This is my first time installing rotors and pads. I'm looking forward to it and to getting rid of the "warped" rear rotors.

Well I installed the shim kit soon after my last post and it appears to be the solution. The shim kit contains what looks like 4 shims but with half missing (see link) http://www.fcpgroton.com/images/product ... 272272.jpg
I installed the shim to the back of the pad that had irregular wear caused by uneven applied pressure due to not seating flat. It took about 25 miles of driving but the pad soon thereafter settled down and the squeel and vibration went away. I tested it in DC rush hour traffic about a week ago and I am golden.
I hope that any of this helps and a thanks to all for your help and suggestions.

Yeah, those shims (with the arrows up) work well. I've been very satisfied with them. Good work!

I have been using the Disc Brake Quiet (the red spray) for years with great results. I've found it is common for disk brakes to squeal a little when new until they settle in. I did mine on my 94 850 about 6 mos ago. I used Duralast semi-metalic with the spray. They squealed for about a week, and have been quiet ever since.
