1999 S70 AWD Does Not Start

Post by pmarinello »

I have a S70 AWD with about 120,000 that was having problems starting, and stalling randomly. I replaced O2 sensor, MAF meter, crankshaft position sensor, vacuum lines, brakes, suspension, coolant, oil, air filter, spark plugs. pretty much the whole tune up. The car was running wonderful, no more check engine, no more stalling, just a little trouble starting once in awhile. Now a few 100 miles later my poor Volvo doesn't start. It just cranks, and it sound normal when cranking, but it does nothing else except crank. After putting all this money into the car, I can't see what could possibly be causing this, and I am all out of idea's. In the days before it starting stalling the second time, I would not have full boost. Then eventually it just wouldn't start anymore.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

THANK YOU

Do you have fuel pressure? The '99s are a different animal from my 850s and I really have no hands on knowledge of them but I think the fuel rails is at least similar, check for fuel pressure at the schrader valve the end of the fuel rail.

fuel pressure is within spec. 375kpa. residual pressure is fine.
