Anti-theft alarm problem and smells

Anti-theft alarm problem and smells

I have a 98 Volvo s70 t5. A couple of times recently, the anti-theft alarm rang without reason when I started my car. And sometimes, it smelled like something burned when driving the car.
Does anyone knows the reasons for these two problems? Thanks.

It sounds like some sort of short in the electrical system. Get it checked out ASAP as a safety precaution.
