My 94 940 turbo leaked at the evap condensation drain a few weeks ago. I have repaired the area by clearing the drain and recaulking the cover on the blower motor and recaulking the screen that stops junk from coming into the windshield wiper cowling.
Since the interior was soaked from the initial leak and would not dry out. I decided to purchase a clean used carpet set from a 960 with the carpet and foam molded onto it. I pulled all 3 seats, center console, all the trim and put in the new carpet in. I am now putting the seats in starting with the drivers seat.
I seat the the rails onto the 4 holes. The rail on the driver side near the console lined up with the holes perfectly and I bolted it down. The rail near the door does not line up with the holes and it sits about an inch back of the hole. With torque I can line it up however, I am feeling like I am twisting the whole seat unit. This seat has been out before and has not been working right since it was reinstalled and I am thinking that this misalignment is the problem.
Is there a way to adjust the bottom rail from front to back ? I could get a BFH (big freaking hammer) and do it but I don't normally like that method. I am not beyond it but I though I would try the mechanical route first.
Any suggestions ??

Is the seat electrically or manually adjusted?

With a manually adjusted seat you would lift the adjusting bar and adjust the runners by hand. That is one I have done before.
Looking at the electrically adjusted seat I would modify the technique by undoing the gear housing on the outer rail, part #34 in the attached, which is held in place by two flange screws. Take the gear housing out of its hole and adjust the slide rail, part #9, by hand. Replace the gear housing.
In theory it should work, but..........
