Complicated CHECK ENGINE LIGHT issue.

Post by blockzeh »

I have had a myriad of issues but will post to ask advice only on this one right now:

I have a 2005 V70 Wagon ... I purchased the car knowing it had flood damage. No major problems and mechanically the car drives fine. (for the most part) When I first purchased the CHECK ENGINE light was on a lot, but then at times went off. Then a period of many, many weeks there was no light at all. Then there was a few times for no reason the car would pretty much go dead and not start (seaming starved for gas). Then the issue went away. I used the "trip reset" button to read the codes and it is reading "109" and "045". Also, had a mechanic read the code and it was giving "non-volatile ECM error". Does anybody know what the codes from the vehicle reader mean? Any thoughts on this? Also, typically this is an AM issue ... start the car, drive for a while ... when it sits a little while, then you start/stop the rest of the day and no check engine light.

i'd recommend getting your obd2 codes read. THen u will get a better responce from the forum. The code readers can be had cheap, if not someone will likely scan it for free, post up when u have the codes.

The code was read by an OBD2 ... came up with the "non-volatile ECM error" is what it said.
